Winnipeg Full Home Revitalization Remodel

We are thrilled to present SPR design&build's exceptional whole home renovation project, aimed at revitalizing a 117-year-old home in the West Alexander neighbourhood. Our team's commitment to repurposing materials, utilizing environmentally friendly alternatives, and to using designs aimed at maximizing functionality has resulted in a remarkable transformation that preserves the home's character, and reduces its ecological footprint while also creating a modern space.

To maintain some of the home's unique charm, we salvaged various elements such as the interior doors, and the banister. We also repurposed various materials including limestone to create shelves in the kitchen, and teak wood to create the unique feature wall in the living room. By incorporating these salvaged and repurposed materials, we were able to ensure that the home retained some of its original character while also embracing a more sustainable approach.

Energy efficiency was a key focus throughout the renovation process. We installed an ultra-high efficiency gas furnace, LED lights, energy-efficient windows, and an energy start certified thermostat. By implementing these measures, we aimed to reduce energy consumption and create a comfortable living space for the homeowners.

Let's delve into the design features that have transformed this home into a functional and aesthetically pleasing space. On the main floor, SPR wanted to embrace an open concept design by opening walls to allow for an easier flow throughout the home. SPR also focused on designing an additional three-piece bathroom for the main floor. We also added in-floor heat, bringing a spa-like feel. In the kitchen, we focused on improving functionality by adding an island with tons of storage and plenty of seating. The kitchen has spacious upper and lower cabinetry, large counter spaces, and accent lighting throughout. The open concept design allowed for a dining area, providing a comfortable space to eat and entertain.

Throughout the home, a main focus for our team was maximizing storage by providing custom closets and storage solutions in all bedrooms, and back and front foyers.
